Low Voltage Service Center Training

This class will give the participant detailed understanding of WEG drives for a service technician. Topics will range from basic commissioning to troubleshooting and maintaining general-purpose drives. Through hands on training, the student will learn troubleshooting of common problems as well as replacement of common parts in the drive. Upon successful completion, the student will be able to commission, maintain and troubleshoot and repair WEG drives in common applications. The class is required for a certified Service Center technician.

Attendees will also be automatically enrolled in the SSW7000 Medium Voltage Soft Starter – Start-up and Troubleshooting class providing students the opportunity to control and operate the WEG SSW7000 soft-starter, understand and navigate programming hierarchy, perform oriented start-ups, and identify and troubleshoot basic faults.  Participation in this class is optional, but recommended.

Objectives: Train professionals to commission, troubleshoot and repair the WEG drives, Soft Starts and Panels.  Participants who successfully complete the course will be authorized to start-up WEG Low Voltage Drives and Low and Medium Voltage Soft Starters.

Who Should Attend:  WEG Authorized Automation Service Partners or those seeking to become Authorized

Prerequisites: Knowledge of electrical principles, power electronics and control circuits. The ability to use multi-meters, amp clamps, oscilloscopes and computers.  Knowledge of required safety practices and procedures.
